We're just about calming down from the excitement of Ben Holder's gig with the trio. Next we'll have the vocal talents and brilliant guitar playing of international performer Denny Ilett.
Denny Ilett is a busy guitarist, vocalist, arranger and bandleader. After 20 years touring the world as New Orleans Musical Ambassador Lillian Boutté’s musical director he has since been working in a variety of projects including Funk pioneer Pee Wee Ellis’s band. Denny runs his own big band playing classic swing and blues and is an in-demand sideman across Europe.
He is also a regular feature writer for Guitarist magazine and teaches jazz guitar at both Bristol and Bath university along with being the artistic director for Bristol Jazz And Blues festival.
His most recent project is the Electric Lady Big Band which takes the compositions of Jimi Hendrix and re-imagines them for 16-piece big band.
